Sathyabama University, formerly known as Sathyabama Engineering College was established in 1987 under the leadership of our honorable Chancellor Dr.Jeppiaar. The Ministry of Human Resource Development granted the Deemed University status in 2001 and in September 2006 awarded the University status under Section (3) of UGC Act, 1956.

    It is a pioneer institute imparting knowledge in the area of Engineering, Science, Technology and Education. The Development activities of the University are strengthened under the able support and valuable guidance of our Directors – Mr.Marie Johnson and Mrs.Mariazeena Johnson.

    The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the institute with a B++ Grade and are also certified with an ISO 9001:2000 for professional quality management. The University undertakes various sponsored and collaborative R&D Projects funded by prestigious National Organizations such as ISRO, DRDO, DST, IGCAR, etc.
